What is Students for Community? Students for Community is an independent project developed around the fundamental values, authentic learning experiences, and personal growth that can take place through students engaging with their community.
How did it begin? Students for Community began as part of a Master of Education course that I was participating in. I have a growing passion for teaching students about their community and volunteerism, and saw the opportunity to begin this teaching initiative.
What are my goals? My goals are to engage students in authentic learning experiences based on a global humanitarian perspective. Using this framework I strive to develop integrated teaching and learning programs, that are also fundamentally driven by core values of community engagement, and the lived experiences of local volunteers and community organizations.
